Happy Weekend Chembur Family
We know we’re breathing poison, and yet nothing seems to be in our control.
For weeks, residents have been complaining about strong chemical smells, burning throats, gas-like emissions, and breathing trouble linked to RCF and nearby industrial activity. At the same time, Mumbai’s air quality has been slipping into the “unhealthy” zone, touching AQI 277 recently. This isn’t normal. This isn’t seasonal. This is negligence.
This edition is about pushing back with purpose.
What’s going on
Residents across Chembur, Govandi, Trombay, and nearby areas have repeatedly reported harmful emissions. Kids, senior citizens, asthma patients, and regular families are struggling. People are finally done being “resilient”.

Subject: Request for Immediate Action on Harmful Gas Emissions & Air Pollution in Chembur
Dear Sir/Madam,
We, residents of Chembur and surrounding areas, are repeatedly experiencing harmful gas emissions, strong chemical odours, and worsening air quality believed to be linked to RCF and nearby industrial activities. This is causing breathing difficulty, irritation, headaches, fear, and serious discomfort to families, children, and senior citizens.
We sincerely request the following actions:
1. Please investigate recurring harmful emissions and strong odours affecting residential neighbourhoods.
2. Please take strict regulatory and corrective action wherever violations are identified.
3. Please implement a clear, permanent, accountable solution to ensure residents are not repeatedly exposed to hazardous emissions.
We hope urgent attention is given to this in the interest of public health.
Sincerely,
[Your full name]
[Locality, Chembur]
Bottomline
This problem doesn’t disappear because the smell fades for a day. It disappears when people stop demanding answers. If we stay quiet, nothing changes. If enough of us speak together, authorities will be forced to respond.

We deserve clean air. Not excuses.
Let's hope for the best.🤞🏻
