  • BMC Road Concretisation Work in Chembur Resumes, Targeting 80% Completion by Jan 2026

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has resumed its mega ₹17,000 crore road concretisation project across Mumbai, with parts of the Eastern Suburbs, including Chembur, seeing a renewed push after the monsoon break. The civic body has specifically inspected and taken action regarding quality concerns in the Chembur and Mankhurd areas recently, imposing penalties on contractors for unsatisfactory work. The BMC is aggressively working to complete approximately 80% of the ongoing roadworks, encompassing both island city and suburbs, by January 2026 to ensure durable, pothole-free roads for commuters across the city.

  • Diamond Garden Metro Stretch Set for December Launch

The first phase of the crucial east-west connector, Metro Line 2B (Yellow Line), is set to open by the end of December, bringing the metro network directly into Chembur. The initial operational stretch will cover the 5.3-kilometre distance between Mandale and Diamond Garden in Chembur, which is currently undergoing final trial runs.

  • Kalpataru Group Secures ₹2,100 Crore Redevelopment Deal in Chembur

Kalpataru Limited, a leading real estate developer, has recently signed development agreements for two society redevelopment projects in Mumbai, one of which is situated in Chembur. This new Chembur redevelopment project, along with another in Goregaon, holds an estimated total Gross Development Value ₹2,100 crore, significantly reinforcing the developer's presence in the high-demand micro-market of Chembur. The company reported strong pre-sales growth for the fiscal year, with the timely execution of ongoing and newly secured redevelopment projects, including the one in Chembur, being a key focus to maintain its financial stability and growth projections.

  • Paradigm Realty Launches Tower 4 of Flagship '71 Midtown' Project in Chembur

Paradigm Realty has announced the launch of Tower 4 of its flagship residential project, '71 Midtown', in Chembur, reaffirming the developer's strong focus on this suburban market. The project is a luxurious, RERA-registered development spanning 4.5 acres and is designed to act as a catalyst in transforming Chembur into a premier residential destination. With over 85% of the inventory already sold in the first three towers, the company is confident in the enthusiastic demand for this new phase, which features exquisite 1, 2, and 3 BHK homes with advanced amenities, including an exclusive rooftop sky lounge. The developer anticipates this tower alone will contribute ₹250 crore to the project's projected total top-line revenue of ₹1,000 crore, reflecting the immense growth potential.

  • Rare Migratory Owl Rescued and Receiving Care at Chembur Clinic

A rare migratory Pallid Scops Owl, considered an uncommon sighting in Mumbai with fewer than a dozen records in the past decade, is currently undergoing treatment and rehabilitation at Exotic Vets in Chembur after being rescued by a concerned citizen. The Chembur facility is one of three locations across the suburbs treating the owls, all of which will be released back into the wild in consultation with the forest department once they fully recover.
