Happy Weekend Chembur Family.
Story of Neighbarks:
“We’re Coco and Selfie. Two female dogs. Full time household managers. Part time emotional support. We live with a hooman named Suraj, who believes he adopted us. Sweet guy. Needs guidance.

Coco and Selfie with Suraj
Let’s start with introductions.
I’m Coco. Six and a half years old. Birthday on 11th October. I’m from Vashi. Suraj likes to say he adopted me. Reality check. I adopted him. Saw him once, judged him, and decided he was trainable. He still thinks it was love at first sight. I let him have that.

I'm Selfie. Almost seven. Birthday on 27th January. Rescued from Wadala when I was two and a half. Again, Suraj claims he adopted me. What actually happened is I showed up malnourished, underweight, and clearly unimpressed with life. I should’ve been 25 to 30 kilos. I was barely 19. I looked at him and thought, fine, you’ll do. He’s been trying to live up to that decision ever since.
Food matters here.
We both are pure non vegetarians. Chicken, eggs, meat. That’s home. Yes, we eat other things sometimes. Fruits, biscuits, weird healthy stuff hoomans feel proud about. We eat it for taste. Or politeness. But one rule stands. Khana time pe hona chahiye. Late food is a personal attack.
Our routine runs this household.
We go for walks twice a day. Morning and evening. No excuses. Morning walk is for fresh air and serious thinking. Evening walk is for neighbourhood updates, silent competitions, and pretending we don’t notice other dogs staring.

Coco is the sweet one. Soft eyes. Calm energy. Can extract treats just by sitting quietly and looking mildly disappointed.
I'm the protector. Alert system. Emotional barometer. If something feels off, I know before anyone else. If there’s a sound outside, I’ve already judged it.

Living with us is not easy. Suraj had to learn fast. Mornings don’t start when he wants. They start when we say so. Alarms are optional. Our stares are not. He learned to read our faces. One look means hungry. Another means walk. The third means you’re already late.
We fixed his schedule. Taught him discipline. Introduced him to unconditional judgement and unconditional love, sometimes in the same minute. His weekends stopped being lazy. His nights stopped being long. His phone gallery? 90% us. He adjusted. People usually do.

Suraj thinks he rescued us. Adopted us. Saved us. Truth is. We gave him a routine, responsibility, and a reason to come home on time. So yeah. We didn’t find a home. We built one.”

Thanking Bappa for granting Suraj the opportunity to serve us!
