Hello Chembur family.
Hope you’re holding it together out there. If you’re handling this alone, that’s nothing short of legendary. And if you’ve got someone or a crew backing you, that doesn’t make it any less real, it just means you’re human. We’re built to lean on each other when things get tough.
If we’ve met for the first time:

We’d love to know more about you, so please introduce yourself.

⛽Chembur Pipeline Repair Restores Mumbai's CNG Supply
The major disruption to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) supply across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) has ended as the repair work on the damaged pipeline inside the Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers (RCF) compound in Chembur has been completed. The damage, caused by a third-party, had cut the gas flow to the Mahanagar Gas Ltd (MGL) City Gate Station in Wadala, severely affecting all 486 CNG refuelling stations and crippling public transport, including autos, taxis, and buses, for two days. MGL confirmed the gas supply to the affected stations in Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai has now been restored, though the supply to domestic Piped Natural Gas (PNG) consumers was maintained as a priority throughout the crisis.
🏢 Chembur Poised to Become Mumbai's Next Major Commercial Hub
Chembur and Ghatkopar East are emerging as one of Mumbai's most promising new commercial destinations, shifting the corporate focus away from traditional hubs like BKC and Lower Parel. This transformation is driven by Chembur's strategic location and unmatched connectivity via the Santacruz–Chembur Link Road (SCLR), Eastern Freeway, Eastern Express Highway, and Metro Line 1. Developers are delivering new-age, Grade-A commercial projects in the area, offering modern workspaces with significantly lower rents (up to 30-40% less than BKC) and better parking availability, making Chembur a compelling, cost-efficient, and strategic choice for corporates looking to attract and retain suburban talent.
🐢 Chembur Hotel Owner Surrenders Turtle After PETA and Police Intervention
Following a report from a concerned customer about cruelty, the owner of a hotel in Chembur voluntarily surrendered a Red-Eared Slider turtle to PETA India and the police. The customer had observed the turtle suffering in a small, unsanitary plastic tub. PETA India, with the help of the Chembur Police, counselled and warned the owner, who then agreed to relinquish the animal for permanent rehabilitation. The rescued turtle is now at the Kalote Animal Trust for proper care.

👩🏫 Chembur School Stresses Need for Teacher Professional Development
The topic of Outstanding Teacher Voice & Professional Development from the FPJ Mumbai Schools Survey 2025 highlights the necessity of continuous teacher training, with a specific voice coming from Chembur. Seema Kshatriya, the principal of Kanakia International School (CBSE) Chembur, stressed the crucial nature of ongoing teacher training to prepare educators for the current generation of students, who are highly exposed to technology and diverse learning methods. She emphasized that schools must constantly adapt modern teaching strategies to make learning fun and engaging, which aligns with the survey's finding that teacher participation in professional growth, while becoming common, still needs to evolve towards more collaborative, teacher-led models of development.
