Happy Weekend Chembur Family.

A Chembur resident lost ₹1.42 crore after investing through what appeared to be an online trading platform.

It didn't begin with a large investment. It began with trust.

According to reports, an acquaintance shared a WhatsApp link promising attractive returns. The man was added to a Telegram group, shown steady profits on the platform, and was even able to withdraw a small amount successfully.

That's what made the scam convincing.

The first profit wasn't proof that the platform was genuine. It was designed to build confidence, encouraging larger investments until the money could no longer be withdrawn.

A Simple Rule

If an investment platform needs to earn your trust through quick profits, pause before investing more.

  • Verify whether the platform is registered with SEBI.

  • Be cautious of investment tips shared over WhatsApp or Telegram.

  • A successful first withdrawal doesn't guarantee legitimacy.

  • If returns seem unusually easy or consistent, question them.

The first profit may feel like reassurance.

Sometimes, it's simply the first step of the scam.

The first sign of a scam isn't losing money. It's being given a reason to trust it.
